Industrial Dual Module Cellular VPN Router with dual modems and load balancing

Robustel’s R2000 Dual Industrial Dual Module Cellular VPN Router provides fast and reliable communication Two integrated modems offers the possiblility of several new features. The most interesting and unique one is load balancing over cellular.

As stated in the introduction, the router contains two cellular modules.  What gives more capabilities to the router, compare to a router where two sim cards are used within one cellular module. As a result, we have the "traditional" cellular backup policies like in one module solutions, but we have something more!

Traditional backup policy is:

    1) Cold backup (The inactive SIM is offline on standby)

To make it more efficient, since the router has got two modules, R2000 has two more options which are:

    2) Warm backup (The inactive link is online on standby ) over cellular

    3) Load balancing over cellular

In case of Warm backup the cellular modules work parallel, booth of them are registered on the network, which allows the possiblility of a very fast switch (apprix less than 5 sec) between the cellular networks. Important feature for critical applications where the very high reliability is a must!

In case of Load balancing the cellular modules work parellel too and the router uses booth of them for transmitting data.  The upload and download bandwidth is much higher, theoretically it can be doubled - compared with one modem routers. So, load balancing offers a real high cellular bandwith on the field!

As we can see below the data traffic has been shared between SIM1 and SIM2:

Load bakancing leads us to the fact that this router profitable for transferring intensive or big data to efficiently use the capacity of the network. What are the typical application fields of the device?

Video surveillance:

In fact the perfect use case for this device is video surveillance. Where videos are sent or being streamed to remote server/host. Since this use case is sensible to amount of data and mainly to a speed of the network, what extended and solvable by the resources of the router.

ATM & Payment:

Second profitable option is generated by the fact that the router contains two separate modules. What means two independent communication channels and networks, what results with more secured and stable connection. Perfect use case for this will be ATMs, where for example customer wants to have separat data traffic for banking/transactions and another channel for controling ATM for example and don't want to have them on the same network and being lost together in case of emergency.

As a result combinations of statements above plus additional Robustel software such as:

    1) RCMS cloud solution, which allows customer to control the device or group of devices, remotely install/update FW or APPs,                monitor the performance of the router and especially the data trafic, to have a CLI access to the router and have an alarms.

    2) RVPN to have you device connected to each other and devices connected to routers within your own private network.

    3) DataGuard APP, the application which let's you turn on/off the links in order to control modules or reboot the device via SMS

Makes the final product optimal for customer who requires fast network capabilities. Aside with extended network security.
